I'm Bo Larson, and this is my professional website, blog, and the hub for my nonprofit efforts.
I am a highly motivated and results-driven conservation leader with over 14 years of extensive experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing impactful global conservation initiatives. My career is marked by a proven ability to secure support for critical conservation efforts through effective communication, engaging public speaking, and strategic media coordination.
My expertise extends to extensive research and hands-on conservation experience across diverse ecosystems. This includes a deep understanding of animal tracking techniques, ethical and humane trapping methodologies, and canopy exploration utilizing technical climbing techniques. I played a key role in numerous Max Planck Institute projects, where I was responsible for managing complex logistics, fostering crucial partnerships, and ensuring the integrity of mass data collection, analysis, and reporting.
A core strength lies in my ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams, demonstrating decisive leadership that inspires collaboration and achieves ambitious conservation goals. My contributions significantly advanced scientific understanding and informed strategic conservation planning.
What is FeralEarth?
FeralEarth is a non-profit endeavor dedicated to supporting the hardworking forest guards of Sierra Leone. My inspiration came from living alongside these courageous individuals and witnessing their tireless conservation efforts firsthand. The mission is to provide them and their families with essential clothing and equipment, and to offer instruction in various aspects of conservation, from botanical studies to technological and communication skills.
Beyond direct support for forest guards, FeralEarth is also actively involved in smaller, yet equally impactful, fundraising ventures. These initiatives focus on collecting essential clothing and athletic equipment for the often under served rural children residing near the magnificent Outamba-Kilimi National Park. Furthermore, our reach extends to many youths in Freetown, ensuring that more children have access to the resources they need for healthy development and active play. Through these multi-faceted efforts, FeralEarth strives to make a tangible difference in the lives of both those who protect the natural world and the children who represent its future.
